With many online and local dealers selling memory foam, it can be difficult to sort throught the options and make sure you're getting the best quality at the best price. Here are some common problems to avoid when shopping.

Buy memory foam by the actual weight. That's right! Just like meat or produce, the only way to tell if you are getting what you paid for is to actually weigh it! There is no mystery to it. A King Size, 4" topper at a 5lb density will weigh 70lbs. If it doesn't, then either they cut the foam short of your bed size, or you got a lower quality foam.

We encourage our customers to actually weigh their foam when they receive it, and double-check that number with the delivery weight, or the chart on our website.

What's the big deal, anyway? The heavier the foam is, the longer it will maintain it's shape without sagging or losing it's restorative properties. So it's critical that if you paid for 5lb foam you get it. Accept no substitutes.

Buy U.S. memory foam. In our experience, many offshore and imported memory foam products contain fillers and additives to get the weight up, but without the true, long-lasting properties of memory foam. At the end of the day, you're looking for performance...don't accept an imitation or knock-off product.

Beware the Density Myth, which states that denser foam is harder or firmer than lighter-weight memory foam.

Let us set the record straight: Density is not tied to firmness at all. Density and Firmness are both factors that can be controlled in the manufacturing process, independent of one another.

You can have two pieces of foam that weigh the same but have different firmness (like the difference between a seat cushion and a pillow).

So, you might ask, "what's the deal with density, if it doesn't affect firmness?" Good question. Density doesn't affect firmness, it is a sign of the quality of the foam, and determines how long the foam will keep it's properties. Basically, the higher the density, the longer it will last. Period.

You don't have to worry that a high-density memory foam product will be harder than any other product. You can be assured that a high-density memory foam (5lb density or higher) will last longer than lower density.

Sleep can be affected by many things. Stress is a big factor leading to 65% of Americans reporting a loss of sleep due to stress. Nearly 32% of Americans have trouble sleeping at least once a week. Memory foam naturally relieves tossing and turning while absorbing body heat and relieving pressure. This is just what most people need to create the perfect sleeping scenario.

  • 93 percent of physicians say sleep plays a vital role in the treatment of lower back pain.

  • Many conditions that result in Joint Pain such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and various cancer treatments can lead to disrupted sleep causing the pain to worsen. Memory Foam Mattresses provide optimal pressure relief to help sufferers get a good nights rest while pain causing pressure which would otherwise keep them awake.

  • Only 8.9 percent of orthopedic surgeons approve of a hard mattress. A memory foam mattress actually molds to your body creating a sleeping environment like no other.

  • Memory Foam is a viscoelastic foam which absorbs the pressure from the contours of your body. Distribution of pressure is exactly what someone suffering from back pain or an uncomfortable night's sleep may need.

  • Sleep is a very important part of our lives. An uncomfortable mattress can result in an hour or more of disrupted sleep a night comparative to a comfortable mattress.

  • The amount of comfort provided by a mattress is different from person to person. Only 16% of men report trouble sleeping while 26% of women have trouble. Your partner may be having trouble sleeping while you are not.

  • Adults and children alike need a good nights rest. There are many different sleeping disturbances which can be remedied by a memory foam mattress. Memory Foam aids in relieving sleep related soreness and insomnia while also helping control many of the allergies associated with dust and dust mites.

  • Dust mites love to live where we lay and the allergy to them and their waste is as high as 25% in the United States. We lose around a cup of moisture a night and almost a pound of skin cells a year creating the optimal environment for dust mites to thrive. One dust mite can produce up to 200 times its body weight in waste every day. A used mattress may contain anywhere from 100,000 to 10 million dust mites.

  • Memory foam is naturally resistant to dust mites creating the perfect solution to this very common problem. Pillows, mattresses, and toppers made of memory foam can all help keep dust mites under control. 10% of the weight of a two year old pillow can be composed of dead mites and their droppings.

  • As our age increases, our bodies needs for pressure relief also increase. If you have developed aches and pains with age, you may benefit from the pressure relief provided by a memory foam mattress. While a harder mattress may have worked to give you a good nights rest in the past, your body may need the comfort which can only be provided by a memory foam mattress.
